Breaking news this week. The Bar Harbor Captains have traded star quarterback and NFA Icon Stephen Garner to the Mexico Bulls. The trade was the last in a long line of negotiations that the Captains haved had in looking to deal away Garner. Apparently the Captains are going to start rookie Darren Poole, who was acquired earlier in the season in a trade with the Montana Grizzlies. The Captains also traded their starting Halfback; Willie Boone to Mexico. In return the Bulls traded rookie Halfback Luther Hodges, 29 year old Defensive Tackle Ty Tillman, and a third round draft pick. This is a very interesting trade because it relies almost completely on player potential for the Captains to get the bargain they wanted. Darren Poole, Luther Hodges, and the third round draft pick acquired at the end of the season will need to prove themselves worthy players in order for the Captains to keep rolling. This also may be the push that vaults the Bulls to the super bowl, very similar to the trade in 2004 when the Yukon Yeti traded starting QB Charlie Joyce to the Carson City Comets. The Mexico Bulls, have much potential and I believe this is the push they need to overtake the Tiburon Sharks, who've had a consistent record so far of about 9-7. This trade will make things very interesting for both the NFC and AFC in the NFA because the Captains have been playoff contendors for the last 2 years and the Bulls may be on the rise. Another week passes in the NFA
