Defensive Rookie of the Year?

Bar Harbor Captains acquired Strong Safty Randy Stephens in the second round of the NFA draft. The 22 year old rookie turned out to be a good addition to the Bar Harbor Captains run defence, after 4 weeks of play he has already forced two fumbles. This is no easy feat, he beat out former Yeti prospect Ralph Waller for the starting job at strong safty during preseason. His powerful performance thusfar has impressed coaches and players alike. Stephens needs only to improve on his pass defence and speed to become one of the premire players in the NFA. The Bar Harbor Captains especially need Randy's talents now as starting free safty Kelvin Hutchinson is out for another 10 weeks because of an injury. This means that 21 year old rookie Jimmy Rhodes is now starting at free safty for the Captains. The Captains are lucky to have such a big playmaker at strong safty, he has a lot of potential and I predict he will win defensive rookie of the year if he keeps this up.
